Update with pictures!

The team is approaching Albion!

Here's a recap of the morning, in picture form :)

We began our journey in Hart Plaza, with a great view of our Canadian neighbors.

It was really cold, though.

We stopped in the Dearborn area to chat and eat some delicious doughnuts.

Chrissie and Sarah, with our van and our Krispy Kreme's in the background :)

Once in Ann Arbor, we caught up with the girls from Girls on the Run. They gave us some energy in the form of fallen bug. Which MRun has now adopted into our own training regimen, to give us some energy and spirit whenever we need it!

we're on our way!

so we are officially on the road!  right now one of the all day vans is stopping for a little caffeine at a starbucks in dearborn before we catch up with the runners.  it has already been a fantastic adventure through the streets of detroit at daybreak (with our beautiful batons!) and now making our way to ann arbor.  we even had our team announced on the radio!  we are all in disbelief that this is actually happening!  and a really cool guy in starbucks just gave us a $20 donation!!  thank you!!

Where to find us on Race Day!

The Race Across Michigan will be going through the cities of Detroit, Dearborn, Ann Arbor, Jackson, Albion, Battle Creek, Kalamazoo, and South Haven.  Our plan is to leave Detroit at 6:45 am, be to Ann Arbor by noon, Albion by 6 pm, Kalamazoo by 1 am, and to South Haven before sunrise so that the whole 178 miles is completed in under 24 hours!  The run will be primarily on Michigan ave leaving the Detroit area, you can catch us running on Huron street behind Rackham Auditormium on our way through Ann Arbor, and we will be taking Kalamazoo ave and West Main as we pass through Kalamazoo.  The last 30 miles of the run will be held on the Kal-Haven bike trail which runs from Kalamazoo to South Haven which is situated along Lake Michigan.
