The 2009 Race Across Michigan is a charity relay run led by the members of the University of Michigan Running Club. The run begins on April 11th in Detroit along the Detroit River and finishes 178 miles West on the coast of Lake Michigan. A group of 40 running club members will cover the distance as a relay race with each member running between 5 and 10 miles. Our team goal is to cover the entire distance in under 24 hours while raising over $5,000 for Girls on the Run of Michigan, a program that encourages preteen girls to develop self respect and healthy lifestyles through running.
Your contribution to the 2009 Race Across Michigan will give young girls a chance to run, promote physical fitness, and celebrate the state of Michigan. To help promote Girls on the Run, the race will be covered by media across the state. Visit www.raceacrossmi.com to donate and learn more.
